Lithgow Railway Station is the end of the Western Intercity service line. Although not all westbound Intercity services go as far as Lithgow. Some terminate in Mount Victoria or Katoomba.
This particular afternoon was a busy one with the arrival on Platform 2 of a train from Sydney Central, whilst a train was waiting on Platform one to take passengers over the Blue Mountains back to Sydney Central.
Further train services leave from Lithgow to Bathurst every three hours, however they are not electrified like the Blue Mountains trains are.
