TMNT A.C. Farley Leo Bust WIP6
Ran into a big problem with the sculpt. When I originally got this piece it was broken up in more than a few places and without a box or photo to go by, and it was implied by the breakage that this was how the swords went on (wrongfully placed by the former owner?). I just found another bust for sale on ebay with larger photos to finally find the answer. Thing is, even though the swords now need to be reversed, the former "hilt" looks like it doesn't match, sculpturally, the base scabbard for some reason. I'm going to reverse the swords anyway and go from there.
I wish I had other photos to go by of the back of the piece, or other people who painted this bust before me, but I can't find anything on-line anywhere of the resin or even the bronze-painted pieces. In most cases I find photos of the bust without the swords at all or the base sewer cover. Despite the belief that there are 500 out there, there's really only 80 or less and many in sorry condition (so sad to see!), so I guess it's really up to me how to work this out. The major goal is to remain sculpture-true to Farley's work and do it justice with the best paint job I can offer.
