Aprox. 2.5 hours more. Removed the blades and did some more clean-up, filing, sanding, and fix-up to the katana and hilt areas, and cleaned the scabbard down. I'll paint the swords separately now due to the elaborate pattern I want to give them.

The pattern is implied on the hilt but sadly, not well defined (otherwise I'd have attached the swords correctly the first time and not followed the breakage pattern from when I got the piece). I'm sure the hilt pattern was lost in translation from Farley's original sculpt to resin casting. I really do hate working with resin. They say it captures fine detail the best but plastics now do just as well. I think resin is far more trouble than it's worth and produces imperfect castings which need fixing and filling almost 100% of the time, even now with all the advances to resin sculpture. I much prefer the difficulty in working with metal or the ease of working with plastics. Too bad this piece was made in '92 and not 2002, but shrug it's still an awesome sculpt.
