They call their music rockin' blues, but I gotta tell you... You won't leave a Jeremiah Johnson show any kind of blue. These guys will rock your face off with a full, energetic, powerful sound complete with meaty blues hooks and horn stabs that are like kryptonite to sadness or despair. And JJ's vocals... oh my. They are rich and hearty, with just the right seasoning to lend credibility to his take on the great American musical form. That sorta makes it sound like his vocals are sonic beefy vegetable soup, but you know? Why not? I'll go along with that. In fact, the metaphor holds up across all aspects of this band. They are not here to get fancy or add a new color to your musical palette. The Jeremiah Johnson band is musical comfort food, and boy, are you going to eat your fill.
