Using Computer Vision, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence with Earth Observation -Dr Modou
Dr Modou Mbaye presented at the SERVIR's Geo-AI Working Group on September 4, 2024.
Dr Modou is a researcher at the Senegalese Institute of Agricultural Research (ISRA), and based at the Regional Center of Excellence on Dry Cereals and Associated Crops (CERAAS). His work primarily revolves around modernizing plant breeding programs in response to climate change, with a focus on optimizing water usage and implementing advanced monitoring techniques for food production in Africa. Dr Modou uses cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence-based imaging technologies, and high-throughput phenotyping.
In this talk, Modou presented on several of his research which focused on the integration of advanced remote sensing, machine learning, deep learning, and computer vision for agricultural applications.
