Prof. Dr. Mohamad M. Awad presented at the SERVIR's Geo-AI Working Group on June 13 2024.

Prof. Mohamad M. Awad earned his BSc. and MSc. degrees in Computer Science from the Lebanese American University. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Rennes 1, France in Signal Processing and Telecommunication. Currently. Prof. Awad is working for the National Council for Scientific Research in Lebanon as a Research Director. He also teaches part-time Bachelor and Master remote sensing, GIS, and computer science courses in the Lebanese University. Prof. Awad has over 70 publications in refereed research papers, conferences, and book chapters in different discipline. Prof. Awad obtained many local and international scientific awards such as Fulbright grant for researchers, LAAS Award for Career Excellence in Science, and Publons top Geosciences and Cross fields reviewer. Finally, Prof. Awad is a senior member of the IEEE organization and the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS).

In this talk, Dr Awad talked and discussed in detail regarding his latest publication on the "FlexibleNet: A New Lightweight Convolutional Neural Network Model for Estimating Carbon Sequestration Qualitatively Using Remote Sensing".
