Clay - Open Foundation Model of Earth: Soumya Ranjan
Soumya Ranjan presented at the SERVIR's Geo-AI Working Group on October 2, 2024.
Soumya works as an ML Engineer at Development Seed, specializing in Earth Observation (EO) foundation models and large language model (LLM) workflows for geospatial interfaces. His work advances the integration of AI and geospatial technologies.
Previously, Soumya led AI labs at several startups in India, where he focused on applying AI to combat climate change and improve educational programs. A strong believer in free and open education, he is passionate about teaching and mentoring whenever possible.
In this talk, Soumya talked about the Clay Foundational Models, its design intricacies, and several downstream applications.
