Did you know that when polled, the food vegetarians miss most is bacon?
Today's Sweet Freedom Recipe Wednesday is for a veg based alternative often called 'Facon' or coconut bacon. While it may not fool you it is a fun recipe that is super easy and much better for you than bacon. I know a million pigs and Vegan's who'd agree ;-)
There are stacks of recipes but many use liquid smoke which is downright nasty with it's synthesized smoke flavour additive. Our version has a lovely smoked salt which is not just better for you, it tastes better than liquid smoke.
The other lovely thing about this recipe is that it is a great way to take care of your salty chip cravings without double cooked oils and starches that convert to sugars like potato chips.
