Can Sugar Cause Alzheimer's?

This week I was in Toronto giving a talk on the Malnourished Brain to a group of business women and then in Ottawa for the Primetime conference to pitch my television show.
With all of the excitement I want you to know that helping you is never far from my thoughts and all week I've been itching to share this week's Sweet Freedom Sunday.
According to The Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement, "Every 65 seconds a new brain develops Alzheimer’s, 2/3 of them are women.”
Unlike all the other diseases I've referenced in the past, there is no known cure or treatment for reversal for Alzheimer's. The only thing we can do is prevent and delay it which is where Sweet Freedom comes in because sugar is a major player in the cause.
When we get scared about such news it is easy to default to thinking there may be a drug to help but according to neurologist Dr. David Perlmutter " the very drugs that are being prescribed across our country and indeed around the world with the idea that they are somehow going to treat Alzheimer’s disease are actually associated with a more aggressive decline in cognitive function." The drugs are proving so ineffective, Pfizer is abandoning efforts to develop drugs to treat this disease.
This means we need to actively work on prevention and delay.
