Chi-Squared (𝛘²) Analysis Google Sheet
Noel Pauller shows you how to create a google sheet that will automatically perform a chi-squared (𝛘²) calculation. The sheet breaks down each step of the calculation so that teachers and students can easily check their accuracy in problem solving. Mr. Pauller uses the sheet to analyze data from a sample of genetic corn believed to be the result of a dihybrid cross and discusses how to determine the degrees of freecom, the importance of the critical value and the null hypothesis. The sheet can also be used to complete a chi-squared test for a genetic test cross with a 1:1:1:1 ratio, or other data sets that call for (𝛘²) analysis. Chi-squared calculations are used frequently in the AP Biology classroom and the AP Biology test.
