Two carabiners and a dream
We tested the Garda Hitch or Alpine Clutch since there are many things online that didn’t agree. Do you have to girth hitch the 2 carabiners together? Do you use D shape or oval carabiners? Do you use lockers?
We found that IF it holds, it breaks or desheaths higher than if you used an ascender! Ovals work but D shaped are better. Lockers sometimes worked but non lockers are better. Loose carabiners work but girth hitched together is better.
