In this video, I talk about my design philosophy, and why I endeavour to always put the player experience first. I've noticed some developers and designers will create really complicated solutions that result in an experience that could be created in much simpler ways.
Nobody cares how your game is made, or how it works... just what the final gameplay experience is like. I think it's important to always keep this in mind, try to understand your player, and think of the game from their perspective.
