I have long wanted to make myself an axe for fishing and going out into nature, but all did not reach my hands. On the market for cheap bought an old Soviet axe, it even remains of the brand in the form of prices were. Axe of the life course have seen, were numerous traces of sharpening, dings, rust. First of all, he knocked out the remains of the axe handle. Then, with a grinder with a petal circle, I cleaned the surface of the axe from rust and irregularities. Pencil marked the places where you need to remove unnecessary. The grinder sawed off the excess. Where I did not get a grinder, I sawed with a hacksaw on metal. Then, with a round file, he sharpened all the irregularities. A polishing wheel lightly polished the metal. I did not polish it to a shine, since it will be a working axe and it does not need to be too polished. Then, on the grinder, I leveled the working surfaces of the axe and sharpened it. Next, I painted the axe with paint. I printed out my favorite drawing on the printer, it's a dragon. I bought a tracing paper in the store. By the way, here is a link to the channel where there are videos about the restoration of various items / @handsonrestoring Go to the channel, watch the video, like and subscribe, I will be grateful. Then he transferred the drawing to the tracing paper with a pencil, and from the tracing paper he transferred the drawing to both sides of the axe. With a sharpened drill, he scratched the drawing to the metal. Now it's up to electrolysis. He poured water and salt, then lowered the axe into it. Plus, we connect it to the Soviet axe. For four minutes, I apply current. I take out my axe, wash off the paint. I decided to cover the axe with a cold blackening agent. Said and done. Next, I sanded the axe with 3000 sandpaper. It turned out beautifully. I also decided to put a golden paint in the recesses of the drawing. Now it remains to make an ax handle. In the store, I bought a blank, sawed off the excess, adjusted it under an old Soviet axe. Made three wedges and scored them dead. Now it remains to cover the wood with stain and everything is ready. I really liked the restoration of the axe, now the axe of the USSR is beautiful, functional and very convenient!
