On one of the forums, I bought an old Soviet Primus. It was in good condition, though not quite complete. There was no grate of the burner. Otherwise, the whole thing is intact and branded. Big star and the number 46. I assume this is the year of release. Began restoration and repair of the Soviet kerosene Primus with disassembly. Unscrewed everything that was unscrewed. It's a stock pump, injectors, end caps, ring, etc. The Primus of the USSR lay for a long time, so it was covered with a patina and patina. I sandpaper it all away. First with sandpaper of 320 and 400 grit, then 1000, 1500, 2000 and 3000 grit. Polished on polishing wheels with Goya paste. On a stationary and using a drill. The pump cuff has fallen into disrepair. I cut out a round piece of genuine leather 2 mm thick, soaked it in warm water, put it on the drill, and inserted the drill into a plastic pipe, as if pressing this drill into the pipe. I put all this on a warm battery for a day. Then I just cut it off with a stationery knife and I got a kind of cap. With a drill, I drilled a hole and assembled the pump rod. I blew and flushed the injectors. The pipes of the burner and thoroughly cleaned and stayed, then blew air from the compressor. I collected everything in reverse order. For the nozzle of a kerosene stove, I made the pullers from the two bolts and one broken bat. There is not enough space for the nozzle, it is very inconvenient to tighten it. When everything is collected, it remains to pour kerosene. Instead of a watering can, I used a piece of plastic bottle. I used medical alcohol to warm up the hotplate tubes. It burns well and without any smell or soot. Then he pumped up the pressure and started the Primus. It burns well, does not go out. That's it! You can warm up the water and drink coffee! In the future, you will only need to complete the Soviet Primus!
