Did you know that instead of digging through the Settings menu of Steam OS, Valve has a built-in way of adjusting the screen brightness of your Steam Deck?
All you have to do is press and hold the 3-dot Ellipsis button here
And then push the left thumbstick up or down depending on whether you want to increase or decrease the brightness of your display.
Pressing up on the joystick will make it brighter.
While pressing down on the joystick will make it darker.
This Steam Deck button combo will work as long as you're in Gaming Mode.
So you can use it to control the display brightness within the Steam OS pages here
And it will also work while you're playing a game that has been launched within Gaming Mode.
