Today (August 1, 2020) is the official debut of the recently restored Rio Grande Southern locomotive No. 20, the first day this locomotive has pulled trains for the public since it last ran in the early 1950s! This coal-fired locomotive worked for two of Colorado’s colorful narrow-gauge railroads beginning in 1899. It has just completed restoration by the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden, Colorado, after 14 years of restoration!
This short video shows the newly restored locomotive on some of its inaugural trips around the grounds of the Colorado Railroad Museum.
