Doing it right in Crystal River
Can our government do what is right to help clean our water, restore seagrass and help save starving manatees? The answer is yes, and it is being done in Crystal River. It did take a group of people to come together, and they started Save Crystal River, a nonprofit organization. They hired Sea & Shoreline to help restore Kings Bay, and together they created the most successful seagrass project in Floridan. The local government was not on board with the project when it first was started, but the people never gave up. The city now is 100% behind the project and gives $70,000 annually to keep it going. We can make it happen in every town in Florida. We will, and we must.
