It almost seems too good to be true. Seven years ago, there was a bay in Florida. All the seagrass had died, it was full of alga and had water that looked like coffee. Many attempts we made to try to restore the bay, but they failed. Two ladies remembered how clean the water was 40 years ago and set off to do what others have failed in the past, Restore the bay. Seven years later the bay is almost as clear as it was many years ago. Seagrass is taking over the bay, the manatees are healthy, and the whole community is amazed at how fast it has happened. I had the chance to interview a fishing guide that saw the water change from looking like day-old coffee to clear clean water. Yes, we can have healthy water, seagrass, and manatees. Thank you, Save Crystal River and Sea&Shoreline.
