In Dreams (performed by Karen Smithies)
I've been lucky enough to record three of my original piano pieces with in-demand local pianist Karen Smithies. The first is "In Dreams", which I wrote about a year ago. It's a very calming piece based on a simple repeating ten note pattern in the right hand that runs counter to the mostly triple meter of the piece, but the end result is much more expressive than its mathematical origins and Karen brings this out beautifully.
