Multitasking MS-DOS on 1984 Sinclair QL: Can It Run Two Copies in Parallel?
In this journal entry for #DOScember2022, let's explore how powerful the Sinclair QL's preemptive multitasking kernel is. Having demonstrated the QL's PC emulator, Conqueror, in a past video (December 12, 2020), we will attempt to load two copies concurrently and see how reliably MS-DOS, software, and games run in parallel. We will only use hardware from 1984/85 with no modern add-ons other than vDrive, an SD card reader that emulates microdrives.
