Andrea Russo is a PhD student at UCL, under the supervision of Jonathan Oppenheim, and a part-time lecturer at Oxford University. His work focuses on producing well-behaved ways of coupling quantum and classical systems, via the introduction of a stochastic noise preventing instantaneous decoherence. If taken as a fundamental framework, this approach might provide us with a novel way of tackling the problem of quantum gravity: namely, that of keeping spacetime classical (and noisy).
