A plentiful compilation of late-evening/late-night passenger and freight trains at this level crossing and station in Westerfield just outside of Ipswich, Suffolk. The location is safe and well-lit at night, and it is a haven for intermodal freight traffic at all times of day! The current level crossing install dates back to re-signalling in 2019, and there are now twice as many barriers and alarms as before - you'll get to hear each individual alarm up close throughout the video, even in night mode which the crossing goes into between 11PM and 7AM! A total of six intermodal freights feature throughout this video, and twelve lowerings in total. As it got later on and quieter as the evening turned into night, I began to be able to hear trains approaching before the crossing even activated - freights could even be heard as far away as Derby Road! Happy watching!
This is, in effect, my Halloween special this year, as this night-time video was released on Halloween. This is hinted at by some of the thumbnail styling and an extra end-of-video message, but is otherwise a normal video, though it is quite close to an 'ultimate' compilation to be honest. There isn't any cheesy editing or effects which even I am not a fan of at all, but this video will no doubt more than make up for that! The videos were filmed in two sessions, one between 8:30 and 9:30PM, and a trio of night-mode lowerings at around 11-11:30PM. Happy Halloween! 🎃🎃
