A busy footpath crossing with quite a new 'active' overlay miniature stop light system located just south of St. Albans City Centre on the Abbey Line, just before the terminus at St. Albans Abbey. The new system was installed in 2023 and is completely independent from any signalling system. On one side, the footpath takes an unusual route up to and across the level crossing, and there are fences in place to prevent cyclists from riding across too quickly or without thinking, as well as unusual 'stop, look, listen' markings on the ground. Additionally, there were signs instructing people to remove their headphones for safety, but one on one side was pretty awkwardly placed and the other on the other side has been torn to the point it cannot really be read. This level crossing has high foot fall and is quite awkward to film at, though I hope you enjoy what I managed to film here!
