It was exciting to share my previous video for the first playable version of a giant mecha crab boss. I took a couple of weeks to really refine the play patterns and graphics.
Thanks to everyone who added suggestions in comments (here and on other platforms). I took them to heart and implemented what I could.

What's new since the last update?
Final background graphics. A new sky, colors, and animated water tiles.
New enemy bullets. The crab now uses unique pink flashing bullets and there's a different one for each attack pattern.
Dialog text. There's an introduction dialog, an interjection when you destroy both claws, and a final dialog when you win. This text is all stand-in and will be changed as the game's story is developed.
Refined missile attack with the fire pillars. There are now three attack areas. Left, middle, right - and the location is dynamically determined to aim at the players location. This makes it a lot more engaging and prevents the player from just hanging out in one place.
Two new bullet attack patterns that happen as the crab walks around.
Color flashing to indicate when you are hurting the boss.
Color changes to red and smoke sprites are generated once the boss is down to 4 life units.
Water splashes at the feet of the mech as it walks.

I tried to keep this boss relatively easy since it is the first major boss you encounter. Your HP will be low, and you will only have the basic weapon. You also won't have the dash yet. I'll eventually need to do some focus testing for game balance.

So, what do you think? Let me know if a comment!
