The game is a run-n-gun style side scrolling shooter with elements of exploration and resource management to upgrade your giant mech.
Check out the progress of Gilgamech after the first 18 months of development. I am not a programmer and am learning the C language along with SGDK as I work on this project.
I feel great about the current state of the game and have made huge gains in functionality and playability. It's already very fun despite the limited content. There's still a lot of smaller functionality to implement, but the game gets better week by week.
All graphics are work in progress and subject to change. Some things look very rough, such as the mission start screens. Don't worry, everything will be polished to look as good as possible. More enemies and levels will be added once I get the game engine stabilized.
