Theis Bergstrom, the general manager of the Maple Corner Community Store in Calais, VT, talks with interviewers about the struggle to attract customers during the pandemic and the important role the store plays in the community.
As part of this project, student interns have worked with CRVT and the Preservation Trust of Vermont to interview country store owners and managers across the state of Vermont. Our goal is to learn more about the triumphs and challenges these integral businesses face and the kinds of support they need to thrive.
