On the evening of April 18, 1974, the Red Brigades launched "Operation Sunflower": Mario Sossi, a magistrate and public prosecutor in the XXII October Group trial, was kidnapped while returning home. The Red Brigades demanded the release of eight terrorists, but negotiations fell through. Fortunately, Sossi was released, but only after a month in captivity, on May 23, 1974.
Documentary based on the 1990 television program "La notte della Repubblica" by Sergio Zavoli.
