On May 28, 1974, in Piazza della Loggia in Brescia, a bomb hidden in a trash can exploded during an anti-fascist demonstration, killing eight people and injuring more than one hundred. The attack was organized by neo-fascist circles linked to Ordine Nuovo.

Final convictions for the Piazza della Loggia massacre came only after decades of investigations and trials. Fifty-one years after the attack, in 2025, Marco Toffaloni was recognized as the perpetrator (he planted the bomb at just 16 years old) and sentenced to 30 years in prison, but he will not be extradited from Switzerland, where he currently lives.

The video is an excerpt from the 1990 television program "La notte della Repubblica" by Sergio Zavoli.
