This is a sleeper, I found it by accident. Nice place as far as I can tell, it might be guides only housing.
Glacier Guides Lodge is uniquely nestled in a forested canyon above the town of West Glacier. Built in 2010 by Glacier Guides & Montana Raft Co, this smaller B&B style lodge was built to LEED standards (environmentally friendly); each private room has a full bath, queen bed(s), AC, WiFi, Dish TV, daily maid service and a full continental breakfast. We arrived at the Lodge for a three day stay, and were met by Josh, the Lodge manager. We had already been in telephone contact with Josh, who had briefed us in advance about the area and things to do. The Lodge is located in a clearing on the side of a hill, a few minutes from West Glacier. Despite being near the town, we felt very close to the outdoors.The Lodge is new and the accommodation is clean and comfortable. There is free parking and the continental breakfast is an enjoyable start to the day.
Josh helped us settle in and produced detailed maps and directions about the best drives, hikes and views. He was born in the vicinity and knows the lay of the land in great detail. He is also a warm, friendly and extremely helpful guy who is happy to spend time explaining the best things to do.
We had a marvelous time in Glacier National Park and were enthralled by the scenery and wildlife. However there is no question that Josh made our stay memorable. He is truly "one of a kind" and the Lodge is very fortunate to have his services. When we left, we felt that we had made a good friend.
