When a company builds a new user interface library they typically produce a software development kit full of samples to assist developers in understanding how to properly code various types of applications and user interfaces. In my experience, developers are lucky if there is at least one sample included that demonstrates how to properly implement accessibility support for the new user interface library.
In this presentation, Thomas discusses some of the challenges that exist in assisting developers with making their user interfaces accessible to people with disabilities. This presentation will look at real software development kit materials from Microsoft, Apple, and Google. We will compare and contrast the various documentation approaches from three of the world's largest technology companies.
