Full 15 minute video showing Catching Dinosaurs Guide Service landing what just may be the biggest alligator gar caught and released on YouTube. She went 90 inches (7 foot 6 inches) and was over 200 pounds.
This is by far the largest alligator gar i have seen fought up close and the experience was humbling. We found her on an undisclosed river in Texas and returned her to her river successfully after a few pictures unharmed after about a 20 minute fight. This gar could easily be over 60 years old or more and i will never forget being in her presence. She is a true prehistoric dinosaur who's species has survived for 147,000,000 years unchanged since the Cretaceous period.
