We discuss different forms of energy such as kinetic energy, potential energy, heat energy, and radiant energy or radiation. We also discuss energy changes and how energy relates to the temperature of an object. Moreover, this video describes how the kinetic energy of atoms and molecules of air is related to the temperature of the air, why low air temperature relates to high air density, and why high air temperature relates to low air density.
This video follows Chapter II (“Energy, radiation and earth’s energy budget”) of Fundamentals of Weather and Climate and is Lecture 1 in this series.
