JPDE OST - Dreams of Jade II (Instrumental)
The official arrangement of the final battle theme from the RWBY fan game, JPDE.
That's right, official. TeamJPDE liked my previous take on the song so much, I was asked to make a new iteration for the actual game. :D
Originally, I was of mind to re-compose it from the ground up, but the instructions were to keep the vocals from the original. And as trying to resample the pitches proved to be a major hassle that wasn't working out, that locked me into the key signature and chord progression from the original, which had be re-doing the intro a bunch of times to make it match up. A additional challenge was that I didn't just want to repeat what I did in my previous arrangement, leading to things being revised a bunch of times as I experimented with what else could be done with it.
In the end, I settle on staying away from my preference of heavy downtuned guitars and put more focus on the orchestra so it meshes better with the rest of the game's OST.
Time spent working on the track: 45 hours.
