CBLT OST: Let's Go, Team!
The sparring match battle theme, from the RWBY fan game, CBLT.
Another one done on commission! For a match featuring the whole team, the director wanted the leitmotifs of all 4 girls present in a This'll Be the Day-esque track. In the very early planning phases, I thought I could maybe look to the original Yellow Trailer theme for inspiration, but ended up not digging the progression on that one. Instead, I opted to just make stuff up myself.
I started coming up with a riff that's intended to be reminiscent of TbtD without outright copying that. Once I had something I was satisfied with, I went out to fit Red Like Roses into the chords, needing a bit of transposing to get it to fit. The process of coming up with a riff, then fitting the motif onto it repeated for the other three. Once everything was in place, I set out to add some strings on and add some additional notes to fill out the piano, with Ruby and Yang's parts going through a bunch of different iterations. Blake's meanwhile, I was pretty much happy with right out of the gate.
Time spent working on the track: 13 hours.
