When I say I use these hot keys on every edit I do I mean that sh*t..Essentially they are reverse, pause, and forward, and they help you skim through your timeline or source monitor much fast (as an editor it’s all about being fast).

K - Pause
L - Forward

Pressing the J or L keys multiple times will increase the reverse or play speeds the more times you press them.
