How many people live in the world #worldpopulationday
How many people are in the world?
how many people live on earth?

Although no one knows the exact figure, it is estimated that some 7.9 billion people live on the earth today.

With the start of agriculture and farming around 8,000 B.C.E., the world population was 5 million.
By 1 C.E., the population reached 300 million people and by 1650, the world’s population rose to about 500 million
It was only around 1800, that the global population had just hit the 1 billion mark. And since then it has continuously grown to the present size of 7.9 billion people.

The growth in population in recent times are mainly driven by advances in medicine, technology and nutrition leading to lowered death rates and allowing more people to live into their reproductive age.
But it is also true that the population is not evenly distributed, population seems to be crowded in certain region. Asia by far has the most people, followed by Africa and Europe and others.
China with 1.44 B and India with 1.40 B are the most populous countries of the world, around 36% of the world’s population live in this two countries. Also some countries are more densely populated than others, Bangladesh for example is the most densely populated country in the world with 1195 people per sq km.
The world's population is said to be growing by 1.10 percent per year, which is approximately an additional 83 million people annually to this world. With this rate the global population is expected to reach 8.6 billion in 2030, 9.8 billion in 2050 and 11.2 billion in 2100.
