Sigma RF Lenses Will Change Everything - Here’s Why
Third-party RF mount lenses are finally coming for Canon mirrorless cameras, and this could be a game-changer for Canon. But what does it really mean? In this video, I break down my thoughts on third-party Canon RF lenses.
So far, Canon has not allowed third parties to make fully functioning lenses for the RF mount. The options we’ve had have been fully manual lenses, except for a few Samyang/Rokinon lenses that have since been discontinued. Now Canon has opened up the technology of the RF mount for third parties, meaning that brands like Sigma and Tamron can start to make lenses for Canon’s mirrorless cameras, that will have auto focus, in-camera controls and lens corrections and more.
The reason why third party RF lenses are a vig deal is that now we can start to see a wider range of high-quality lenses, that are decently priced. This means more lens options at a lower price.
