When you're making spec maps this way, remember: your red channel is metallic, your green channel is roughness/glossiness, and your blue channel is always at 255. It'll take trial and error to find the color codes for the exact look you want on materials but when you find the colors you like, you can save those material colors into your palette and save the palette itself for later use!
