#IFDRecruitClass89 on day 1 of 3 learning about Fire Behavior and Dynamics. Thanks to our partners at the Fire Safety Research Institute #IFD was gifted 2 props used during the recent #FDIC2024 Conference classes held at the #IFDTrainingAcademy.
The nationally taught #FSRI Fire Dynamics Boot Camp class utilizes the props to "enhance firefighter safety, situational awareness, and fireground decision making by teaching the application of fire dynamics fundamentals to support the application of research results in everyday firefighting."
The outside prop - simulates a Class A Fire and the inside prop simulates a Class B Fire. This unique opportunity in having the props within our curriculum, is second to none when providing real time visuals for demonstrating Ventilation, Flow Path and Fire Dynamics including smoke explosion, backdraft and flashover.
This training and the use of the props is invaluable to new recruits and will be utilized over the next 3 days culminating in Flash Over Training on Friday.
