This Week in Volcano News; Explosion in Yellowstone, Activity at Katla

This week, an explosion unexpectedly occurred at the Yellowstone volcano, sending hundreds of tons of rock into the air. Meanwhile, in Hawaii, 4 magmatic intrusions occurred within Kilauea's east rift zone in only 4 days. In Iceland, the alert level was raised at the Katla volcano due to a strong glacial flood originating from the mountain. And, in Russia, the Bezymianny volcano produced its strongest eruption in 26 months, causing ash to drift towards Alaska.
