Community Development Planning Services | Orange City, IA
Orange City partnered with ISG to organize and facilitate their community engagement for a new community development plan. The engagement included regular project check in meetings with a City task force, user group meetings with businesses, City, and civic leaders, and community wide open houses. These meetings allowed ISG and the community to understand the project’s vision, define planning priorities, gather public input and feedback, establish concepts, determine priorities, and guide the direction of the project moving forward.
In addition to in‑person engagement strategies, ISG’s team of planning, design, and marketing professionals implemented online engagement strategies such as a tailored StoryMap using GIS software that housed public outreach and engagement opportunities. Methods of both traditional and online outreach included newspaper advertisements, flyers, emails, social media and website creation.
ISG planned a final celebratory community engagement event to showcase preferred concepts and define priorities at an annual community festival, the Orange City Tulip Festival.
