This video covers the Cheat Canyon section of the Cheat River. This is some of the best intermediate whitewater kayaking to be found in West VA. This classic run features big waves, holes, and ledges to play on, with some class IV punch for the developing paddler. The Cheat is also a prime example of how community action can change lives. After horrific acid mine drainage ruined the watershed completely, local residents and boaters banded together to demand change. As of now, the Cheat is flourishing- even Trout have returned!
