Milk or Mush? The Puppy Dilemma!
Puppies are typically ready to start eating soft food (often called "puppy mush" or "gruel") around 3 to 4 weeks of age. At this stage, they begin to develop their baby teeth and can start transitioning from their mother's milk to more solid foods. However, they should still continue to nurse from their mother, as her milk provides essential nutrients and antibodies for their growth and immune system. The gradual introduction of soft food should be done alongside nursing until around 6 to 8 weeks of age, when puppies are usually fully weaned and ready to eat solid puppy food exclusively. This transitional period allows them to adjust to new textures and flavors while still benefiting from their mother's milk.
