江ノ島ライトアップ2024夏 ＜Enoshima Island Illumination. Summer 2024＞
There is no train in this video. It is a 7-minute long video of a summer evening at Enoshima Island in Kanagawa Prefecture.
Enoshima Island, which often appears in the background of Enoshima Electric Railway videos, is a 0.41 km² land-tied island (similar to Mont Saint-Michel in France). It became a religious site around 1200 AD, and began to flourish as a tourist destination around 1700.
The island's character has not changed, and while there are shrines on the island, there are also many parks and restaurants, and it is always crowded with people as a tourist destination close to Tokyo.
In recent years, summer night illuminations have been held, which is also a new attraction of Enoshima Island.
I visited the island one night in August and took some pictures. The illumination is accompanied by fantastic music, and all the audio in this video is local sound.
