DJI mini SE flight over 303 thousand Kristal Solar Park - largest solarpark of Belgium The Netherlands and Luxembourg
With 99.5 MW of photovoltaic panels, Kristal Solar Park on the Kristalpark III business park in Lommel is the largest solar park in the Benelux. On the 93 hectare site, which corresponds to 200 football fields, there are no fewer than 303,000 solar panels and 2,200 kilometers of cable. The mega-solar park produces 85,000 MWh per year, the equivalent of an annual consumption of nearly 25,000 families, and avoids annual CO2 emissions of more than 30,000 tons.
The companies that will establish themselves at Kristalpark III in the future can plug into the solar installation and can thus be sure of green energy. Moreover, in all phases of this project, the existing nature on the site was taken into account.
The installation of the solar park was done by ENGIE Fabricom, which will also be responsible for the maintenance of the solar panels for a period of fifteen years. LRM, Stad Lommel and Nyrstar together invested 60 million euros in Kristal Solar Park.
