Zero2Sixty: Video Production Tips
This episode covers - what a clapperboard is and how to use it to sync audio during your video filming process.
Getting to Know Clapperboards
Have you ever watched behind-the-scene or making-of footage? If you do, then you have probably noticed how people keep on putting this square thingy in front of the camera and then clapping it as the word "Action!" is said. That very thing is a clapperboard.
Basically, a clapperboard is a device that combines a chalkboard with a clap stick. The chalkboard part shares information such as the following:
-Director's name
-Director of photography's name
-Date
-Scene number
-Take number
The clap stick, on the other hand, is essential to produce a clear, crisp sound that can easily be distinguished during the post-production or video-editing phase.
