How to Set a Password for Steam Deck Sudo Commands
Some Steam Deck mods require you to execute them with sudo privileges but that requires you to have a password setup already.

If you're wanting to set up a password on your Steam Deck then this video will show you how all of that is done in a few easy steps. You are likely wanting to set this up so that you can install a mod in Desktop Mode, so let's go ahead and switch to that.
By default, Valve has configured the Steam Deck so that it does not have a password. This means we need to do it manually.
We're going to open up a Terminal on the Steam Deck while it is in Desktop Mode.
I'll just use Konsole since it is pre-installed, but you can you use a different one if you wanted.
The command we're going to be typing in is. . .
passwd
You'll see this prompt asking you to enter in your password.
And then you will be told to type in that password again.
If everything was done correctly, you'll be told the password was updated successfully.
After the password has been set on your Steam Deck, you can install any 3rd-party mod that you find which requires you to execute it with elevated privileges.
Just please be aware of the risks involved when installing any 3rd-party mod you find out there.
And if you're not able to audit the code yourself, at least wait until many others in the community have a chance to try it first.
