ELECTRIBE 2 ARPEGGIO: Part 1 - Basic Step Edit Techniques
The number one missing thing in the new Electribes is the simple ability to make proper Arpeggios like in the Korg ESX/EMX. It used to be as simple as holding down amount of notes you wanted in your Arpeggio. While I love my Electribe 2 I can understand how this has caused issues with Electribe purists. In this quick 3 part video series I am sharing my "work-arounds" to get proper "sounding" Arpeggios for my music and for my band Toaster Music using the Korg Electribe 2 and Sampler.
In this video, I demo and describe the most basic way to get Arpeggios on the Electribe 2 or Electribe Sampler using the Step Edit feature.
In the example we use the notes C-E-G-C. By going into Last Step (this is the secret sauce here) you are programming how many notes you want your part to have, thus giving you the foundation of your Arpeggio. Since we are only using 4 notes we set our last step to 4. You dial in the notes of your preferred chord and hit play, you're done! This by far the most precise way to program the Arppegio you want but also the most time consuming. This is not recommended to do during a live performance.
