The technique for Step Jump Hold can be applied to part mute, trigger, sequencer, and keyboard mode. The Kaoss Pad in Gate Arp affects these modes differently.

Part Mute - Mute Groups
Select and hold down as many parts as you need (or can) while giving the Kaoss Pad a quick tap. Once the lights on your selected mutes change state you can tap the Kaoss Pad again to turn on or off the group. Hit any trigger pad to ungroup the mutes. Mute Groups are not saved.

Part Trigger - Group Trigger
Select and hold down as many parts as you need (or can) while giving the Kaoss Pad a quick tap. Once the lights on your selected parts change state you can tap the Kaoss Pad again to completely re-trigger the parts as a group. Gate Arp patterns can be selected to affect the re-triggering. This is a great way to take an existing beat pattern and create quick trap break with in your pattern. You can introduce beats not originally part of the beat. Tip: when you hold down parts in this mode you are momentary muting them.

Part Sequence - Step Groups
Select and hold down as many steps as you need (or can) while giving the Kaoss Pad a quick tap. Once the lights on your selected steps change state you can tap the Kaoss Pad again to completely activate the steps as a group. This is a quick way to introduce a temporary change to the sequence. Hit any trigger pad to ungroup the steps.

Part Keyboard - Note Groups/Chords
Only works in Poly voice assign! Select and hold down as many notes as you need (or can) while giving the Kaoss Pad a quick tap. Once the lights on your selected notes change state you can tap the Kaoss Pad again to completely re-trigger the notes as a group (similar to a chord). Gate Arp patterns can be selected to affect the re-triggering.

Have fun with all these hidden features!
