Ankle Click Strain Map
I have a pretty serious ankle click from running. You can hear it pretty easily when I walk, but cannot see it with standard imaging techniques. Using Digital Image Correlation (an emerging new imaging technique), you can do full-field strain mapping to make this obvious, and quantitative! The color maps represent how much strain is measured on the skin... where red color is tensile, blue is compressive, and green represents the relaxed state.
